What is Vizio LCD?

LCD and Plasma televisions look pretty much the same. When looking at them you will see they are equally thin and equally flat. We have come to expect this of the television sets we buy. But don’t be fooled by appearances. These two televisions make use of two very different methods of technology. If you have your heart set on a Vizio LCD you probably want to know what you are getting.

Your television will have two separate panels that have been bonded together. These two panels are made of two sheets of clear material. They will be polarized and also covered in a unique polymer. It is this polymer that keeps each of the liquid crystals in place. Remember, the LC in LCD stands for liquid crystal. An electrical current goes through each of the crystals. When this takes place the crystals either allow or prevent light from going through each crystal. In this way images are created. A fluorescent light is used because the crystals can’t make their own light. This enables you to see the pictures produced on your screen.
